One of three coastal landscape paintings that I made in the open air over summer, at Thunder point in Warrnambool, Southwest Victoria. The ocean gleams in deep ultramarine blue, with hints of turquoise and green. I worked quickly in the early morning light, the sun hot on my back, the wind a gentle breeze. The quiet atmosphere of this piece belies its name, as a harshly beautiful, rugged stretch of coastline.
About the Artist
I am an oil painter based in Naarm/Melbourne. Born and raised in country Victoria, I live and work in Belgrave. I have an upcoming exhibition in June 2026 at Artemisia, Windsor: surreal forested landscapes interspersed with dreeamlike elements. Previous shows at Brunswick Street Gallery (BSG), Painted City: landscape paintings of the inner north and Melbourne City, and a series on Wildflowers found in the city. I have participated in group exhibitions across Australia, and l hold a bachelor of Visual Arts & Design, Postgraduate degree in Creative Writing and Bachelor of Arts.
