Zest for Life, by Vanessa McMahon-Maver Zest of life, Still Life artwork by Vanessa Mave, is a fun piece, using pops of colour to create a scrumptious mix of textures, pattern and fruit. Using my found fabrics, pottery and plants, I create scenes that are reminiscent of times spent together with friends and family. Picnics, dinners, before and after the event. I explore different compositions, colour and shape, using the objects to create form, light and shadow. This piece is perfect to bring some bright contrast into a space, pair it with a more muted piece to create a statement. Great in a living space or kitchen, and even in a bedroom. About the Artist
Vanessa has shown her work in a number of groups shows around Australia, and recently hosted her own art show, Life In Colour, with fellow artists Amy Compton and Bree Morrison at The Green Space, Mentone, November 2024. Was a Finalist in the Weswal Gallery, Interiors Art Prize 2024, a finalist in the Art to Art, Unearthed Art Prize 2023 and 2024, and awarded Directors Choice, Aspire Gallery 2022.
