About the Artist
My art is inspired by the people and places in the bush. I like to paint loosely and gesturally to create a sense of freedom and to evoke that same feeling of freedom for the viewer as when I am in the bush. Peta Moore is an abstract artist based on the Northern Tablelands of NSW. She is known for her vibrant landscapes depicting rural Australia. After completing a Diploma of Visual Arts through Sunshine Coast TAFE she developed a voice for exploring the colours and forms of rural landscapes through loose gestural mark making using thick layering of paint. Her work delves deeper into the lasting impact the rural landscapes have on her and she aims to illicit an emotional response from the viewer and leave a lasting impression on them too. Peta Moore’s work has been exhibited most recently in a solo exhibition at Get Framed Armidale and in a group exhibition at the Inverell Art Gallery. Her work won the TAFE Sunshine Coast Art Award for all students enrolled in art and she has won several prizes at the Aspects Art Show in Goondiwindi Qld.
