Honor Bowden

Honor paints coastal light, not places exactly, but the feeling of being held within one. Her layered, expressive work sits somewhere between what’s real and what’s felt. A contemporary impressionist working in acrylic, Honor is represented by Art to Art Gallery in Melbourne. She has exhibited widely across Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales, including the Affordable Art Fair and the SWELL Art Prize. Her work is held in private collections and recognised as a finalist in multiple national prizes.

Inspired by the coast she lives beside, stretches of white sand, salty horizons and the particular quality of light that can shift a familiar place into something luminous and harder to name.
