
Alicia Cornwell
About the Artist
Alicia Cornwell is an oil painter specialising in Still Life with a particular interest in combining native and exotic florals with objects of interest. She has a a Degree in Fine Art (Monash University) and a Diploma of Education (Victoria College). She has been a finalist and a Winner in several still life / Art prizes around Australia including the Bluethumb Art Prize (WINNER S/L) and Art Lovers Australia Art prize (WINNER S/L) Alicia paints from her home studio full time on top of a mountain in Olinda just outside Melbourne. She is inspired by the national parks surrounding her home, botanic gardens across the road and her own 100 year old garden for her compositions and the vast array of flora available at her doorstep. Alicia was an Antique Dealer / vintage merchant for over 20 years supplying film/tv and interiors before becoming a full time artist and has a vast array of interesting objects to inspire and embellish her artworks with. Living in Melbourne's flower growing area and annual flower festivals provide further inspiration that change dramatically throughout the seasons.
