Alice Trow
About the Artist
Alice Trow is an artist living and creating on Wadawurrung Country, Victoria, having relocated after graduating from the Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2017.
Alice’s practice stems from a deep love for nature and a desire to capture fleeting moments of beauty, finding endless inspiration in the Victorian coastline she now calls home. Her work focuses on depicting the ‘magic hour’ which comes with early morning and evening; taking inspiration from seasonal changes, as well as the transformative quality of light and how this adds to the feeling of a place. As a result, her paintings are often quiet, calm and reflective.
Her work is done on an intimate scale and, rather than demanding attention, gently encourages the viewer to lean in and engage with the scene before them.
