Alice Kulbat

Alice Kulbat is a Brisbane-based landscape painter. Her work is characterised by expressive strokes which capture light, movement and colour of intimate scenes of everyday surroundings. Alice is an emerging landscape artist living near Mt Coot-tha - surrounded by sky, trees and water. The interplay of these elements with light is captivating and she responds to in turn through painting. These are often intimate scenes inviting the viewer to experience small parts of a whole.

She captures colour, shapes and mood through hue, tone and stroke. Conveying the energy of a place is integral to her practice. Strokes trace the gesture of the hand and colours are noted on board as a reminder of her perception of place.
